Each Regional Conference offers those working in higher education at all levels the opportunity to listen to topical speakers and exchange ideas with collegues from various specialist areas within higher education. The event will also provide the opportunity to network with colleagues from your region about the challenges and successes which are local to you.

 

Yorkshire Regional Conference - 5th November 2009
The Edge, 34 Endcliffe Crescent, Sheffield, S10 3ED

The University of Sheffield sponsored event successfully saw over 110 participants attend a range of sessions during the one-day conference. Alison Wilson from Yorkshire Forward, Professor Keith Burnett, Vice-Chancellor of University of Sheffield and Professor Philip Jones, Vice Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University, all took part in a discussion on ‘Higher Education: All Change!’ chaired by Alison Robinson, AUA Executive Director. This lively discussion was a much enjoyed part of the day.

The Conference was opened by Dr Philip Harvey, University Registrar and Secretary at the University of Sheffield. The event ended on a high note with the ‘Autumn Explosion’ Networking event, delegates enjoyed a range of Bonfire night themed foods.

London Regional Conference - 24th November 2009
UCL

The forthcoming conference will start with a plenary from Baroness Blackstone, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Greenwich, who will speak on “The Role of Vice-Chancellors and the importance of working effectively with a professional administration”.

Delegates will be able to choose three working sessions from a choice of twelve.  One group of sessions will be dedicated to learning more about AUA’s Special Interest Groups – Departmental Administrators, Managing Change, Academic Quality & Enhancement, Partnerships, Space and Applicant Experience.

PG Certificate in Professional Practice – session for participants
