Event Information

You are welcome to attend the joint AUA-SPA Applicant Experience Special Interest Group, which is open to staff (both AUA members and non-AUA members) with an interest in the applicant experience from pre application, application, post application and transition – an important precursor to the whole student experience.

Please book if you can before Thursday 2 February by 2.00pm as if, unusually, we don’t get enough people to run the SIG we can let you know before you book your tickets to London!

We have a packed agenda to make best use of your time.  We thought we would explore how HEIs are developing tracking and monitoring of applicants in the new fees and student number control environment. Issues for English HEIs including  AAB+ and non-AAB+ students and issues round Rest of the UK in Scotland.  Elements of SPAs applicant experience strategy, including the transition stage, will be useful here. The aim is to get staff talking about the issues at the meeting, their role in tracking and monitoring of applicants and policy development, and then to go back to their institution and explore how it works so at the following meeting we can share good practice and professionalism.  Staff who will be interested in this area will be planners, managers, registry staff, departmental administrators, admissions and recruitment staff, finance staff and many others.

In addition, at the request of the SIG members, we have a member from UCAS Customer Strategy Department to give us an insight and update as to the services and support that UCAS can provide to aid the applicant experience.

We look forward to seeing you there.  Many thanks to the University of West London for hosting the SIG.
