Digital Skills in the workplace

The AUA is working with JISC to conduct a survey of the digital skills of staff employed in administration and management roles in UK HEIs.

Thank you to everyone who completed our baseline survey, which is now closed.

Dear AUA members and HE staff,

Since September 2011 the AUA has been involved with a £1.5 million JISC project aiming to investigate and promote the development of digital competencies in UK higher education staff and students.

With excellent IT skills becoming a requirement for more and more positions, developing these skills is an important aspect of any professional’s personal development. The AUA will be supporting its members’ development in this area as part of the JISC Developing Digital Literacies programme and our CPD Framework for professional services staff in higher education.

To help us identify areas where staff in higher education administration and management could benefit from support we have commissioned a baseline survey covering the use of digital skills in both personal and professional contexts.

As well as surveying our members, we'd like to survey staff in our sector that are not currently members. We would like your help in encouraging your colleagues to visit http://bit.ly/DDLAUA and complete our survey.

We greatly appreciate your time in completing this survey, which will form a valuable contribution to the AUA’s work with JISC, as well as helping shape future development activities of the AUA.

Many thanks,

Alison Robinson Canham
